Joseph Marie Louis Duval (October 11, 1928-May 23, 2009) was the French Roman Catholic Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Rouen.
Born in Chênex, Duval was ordained to the priesthood on June 8, 1953. On May 14, 1974, Pope Paul VI appointed Duval auxiliary bishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Rennes, and he was ordained Bishop on July 6, 1974. On June 5, 1978, Pope Paul VI appointed Duval Coadjutor Archbishop of Rouen and, on May 6, 1981, he became the archbishop retiring on October 16, 2003.[1]
Archbishop Duval was concerned about the activities of Bishop Jacques Gaillot while archbishop.[2]
